Human Prospects in the era of AI

There is no doubt the Fourth Industrial Revolution is already happening and it is up to us (companies, governments and society) to set the tone of this change in order to spread the wealth rather than increase the exclusion. This is a topic that I am very interested in, especially when it comes to its implications for work – which is the subject of my personal studies.

As it is a matter that I am constantly reading about, Linkedin suggested me an article related to it. That was when I learned about the Peter Drucker Challenge, only 5 days before the submission deadline.

This year's theme was “How to stay human in a robot society” and was announced in the beginning of March, with deadline scheduled for June 24th. It is an essay competition that evaluates participant’s insights into the theme. There were two categories: one for students and one for professionals/managers in which I was competing.

Although I had only 5 days to write my essay, I decided to take my chance and worked hard on it. I was very happy when I saw that I was among the 20 finalists, being the only one representing my country.

As a finalist, I was granted free access to the Peter Drucker Forum where they will be discussing how AI is changing business and the way we work. It is a great opportunity for me to learn more about this issue that is, for sure, one of the main challenges of our time.
