About us

Our story

We are a community with a CNPJ — pragmatic, caring, and committed to regenerating Greater Belo Horizonte.

We are people from the greater BH area with a common purpose of sowing together the day when everyone will live well in abundant communities on a healthy planet. We are pragmatic dreamers. We imagine a better world, we connect and we act. We practice autonomy and self-management within the association and in our dealings with communities.

We take care of ourselves and each other. We are compassionate towards each other's rhythms, limitations, desires and characteristics. We re-adapt according to circumstances, but we never give up on our dreams. We believe we can make a difference and trust that our actions will bear good fruit. We seek lightness, smiles and good times while we engage. If it's not fun, it's not sustainable.

What do you mean by "regenerative projects"?

To deal with the contemporary challenges of climate change, environmental degradation, inequalities, political radicalism and exacerbated polarization, we propose strengthening the 4 Rs:

  1. Reconnection with nature, animals, rivers and forests, with people, with the divine and with ourselves. We are part of a whole, and it is an illusion to see the human being as dissociated from the planet. Reconnecting deeply with the Earth and all beings is the path to sustainable and conscious practices.
  2. Resilience communities that are united and support each other. Faced with the challenges of living in an unsustainable system, it is necessary to sow resilient communities, capable of facing adversity and getting back on their feet when they are hit.
  3. Resistance against the accelerated destruction of the environment and any threat to life. To offer resistance and prevent harmful practices from being perpetuated, with actions on all possible fronts, based on the responsibility of love, non-violence and peaceful acts of non-conformity and civil disobedience.
  4. Regeneration of human thought, first of all, to reflect on socio-environmental regeneration. With a fraternal spirit, we will participate in the rebuilding of communities and the recovery of the environment.

How it works

You can find the rules and guidelines for each fund on its specific page. In general, applications are continuous and projects are evaluated and chosen during the month in which they were submitted, and are valid for up to 3 months.

The Nossa Cidade Association is built by hundreds of volunteers in all cities of Grande BH, who organize, fund and administer the resources of regenerative projects. It's simple and fun!
